Upon acquiring a Thoroughbred colt I named Wildfire, I did research into nutrition as I have also done for my dogs.
I wanted to give my horse the best chance at a healthy life not only from the outside but the inside too. Through extensive research I found a good source for hay, a high quality pellet feed from Crypto Aero Wholefood Horse Feed that doesn't have oats, corn, soy, or molasses, the things I didn’t want to feed my horse because of products having GMO and other ingredients that can cause colic or other food related health issues. When I first got Wildfire he was quite shabby looking but my property had enough grass for him to graze that would give him the nutrition he needed on top of the high quality feed. Through the years with fluctuating weather, mainly drought, and some excavation to level land for a round pen to train him, my property doesn't provide the abundant grass it once did. Not only that but due to drought it is possible that the hay I feed lacks the nutrients my horse needs. I did research on natural supplements and found a mixture of 8 "super-foods" that contain a healthy source of carbohydrates, protein, fat, vitamins, and minerals. Each one complements the other or provides something that another might be lacking. I looked to see if there were any horse products out there that had all the things I was looking for but couldn't find one that had them all and not what I didn't want such as oats, corn, soy or molasses. I decided I would create my own mix, and for the past few years I have put this mixture to the test on Wildfire and have been pleased with the results. So now I bring Wildfire's Remedy to others for their horses.
