A little bit of independence
The picture was sent by Emily Gittes who owns the black Lab Bella. She is trained as a medial alert dog and assists Emily by bringing Emily her medications. The one pup is in training and the other Lab is an autism service dog. Thank you Emily for the picture. Though I didn't train these dogs, I have trained service dogs for mobility assistance and also have assisted in training dogs for many other needs.

Service dog training gives a person with a disability some independence back. That is why the training of a service dog is a long and intensive process. The right temperament is needed and there for if you are in need of a service dog and have a dog of your own it would have to be evaluated to make sure that it is suitable to do the tasks specified. It has to be mentally and physically sound. Therefore, if you are in need of a service dog and don’t have one, one will be sought out with the proper attributes that is needed to perform the tasks the recipient requires to gain independence and a healthy relationship with a K-9 companion.
