Wolf Pack Dog Training provides a K-9 Officer Training Program designed for any federal, state, county or local law enforcement agency. This program prepares an officer and K-9 team for all phases of law enforcement K-9 assistance. When each team completes the program successfully, the handler will understand how to work with his or her K-9 in order to have a successful K-9 team prepared for any situation which may occur in the course of duty.
Wolf Pack Dog Training will select a male German Shepherd from our breeding program of top bloodlines or from a trusted breeder of our approval that express the desired traits needed. We will raise that puppy from the start imprinting desired behaviors needed to successfully accomplish police K-9 duties. Our Law Enforcement K-9 program is a 24 week program. Once the dog is between 6-12 months old the formal training will begin. During the first 12 weeks we conduct a pre-training program for the dog only, as long as it passes a complete veterinarian physical including hip and elbow x-rays at 12 months old. During the pre-training program our canines are socialized and receive a solid grounding in obedience, which we feel is the basis for all subsequent training. At the conclusion of the training program, your K-9 will do on and off leash obedience through various distractions, scent detection, tracking, protection training and apprehension, have the basics of building, area, and article searches, along with narcotics detection. The canine will also go through an obstacle course program to teach it confidence and how to move safely on unsteady or moving objects.
The second stage of the Police K-9 Program is the K-9 and Officer Training. It entails a 480 hour, 12 week program at Wolf Pack Dog Training Center and various locations around the county. It consists of teaching the canine and handler to work together. During these 12 weeks officers and their K-9 partners follow a rigorous training schedule. Although our schedule is intense and structured, we have built in the flexibility to allow for variances in the individual K-9 teams as they progress through training.
During both the pre-training session for your K-9 and the 12 week team training program, the dogs will be exposed to many varied situations as possible in an attempt to familiarize each team to the full range of K-9 law enforcement service. Training is conducted at all hours of the day and night to prepare the canine teams for whatever schedule they may be working after course completion. This exposure also prepares the team to successfully function under as many possible scenarios they might encounter while on duty. The cost of the program includes the dog,pre training, handler/dog training, and equipment needed. After training, your department will have a successful K-9 Team.
What makes this Police Canine Officer Course so different?
Officers learn the latest in-service techniques to maintain and correct canine team problems.
Since each class is limited to only two (2) teams (K-9 and handler), each is exposed to all potential situations encountered by a full service law enforcement K-9 team. Rigorous testing, agility obstacles, obedience, tracking, various scent detection and protection training are practiced and tested. The canine team, upon completion of the program may also be certified by the North American Police Work Dog Association
Full Service Canine Unit means the dog and handler are trained for :
Wolf Pack Dog Training is confident in the training and quality of our dogs, although, despite our dogs being well trained and bred from quality dogs, it is up to the handler to maintain what they have learned in the Canine Police Program and continue with monthly maintenance training. Wolf Pack Dog Training is not responsible for lack of commitment from the officers or the department. We will place the dog with the officer that best qualifies for the position. Chiefs are advised throughout the program of all progress of the team. Written reports of progress are filed and accessible on request. This superior training program keeps chiefs abreast of their investment and provides a department with a well trained dog. Departments don’t have the burden of unnecessary downtime, or of replacing a dog that fails to work out because of lack of quality dogs, mediocre training, or wrong pairing of officer to dog. Wolf Pack Dog Training strives to produce the best and most successful K-9 team.

For a duel purpose K-9 (German Shepherd) all supplies, training, boarding, handler training, travel cost and all that is required for training a police dog is included in the cost. The dogs are acquired from my own breeding program or another professional breeder that I trust who has top bloodlines that produce the desired temperament needed for police work.
